The Carbon Footprint 2022 Measure to Act

At Blandin & Delloye, we believe that elegance can be sustainable. That's why we carried out an in-depth Bilan Carbone with our partners Jericco (project management) and Carbo (project owner). Jericco, as ACA, provided strategic management of the project, while Carbo, as ACM, oversaw the assessment and reduction of our carbon footprint. This collaboration enabled us to define concrete actions to limit our environmental impact.

 

Why this carbon footprint ?

As an informed consumer, you deserve to know how your clothing choices impact the planet. Our approach aims to offer you total transparency on our greenhouse gas emissions and to offer you products that combine style and respect for the environment. This initial assessment is the starting point for our approach to implementing concrete actions and continuing to reduce our environmental impact over time.

Understanding our emissions

We have analysed our emissions according to three categories:

  • Scope 1: Direct emissions
    Direct emissions resulting from our activities, such as the heating of our workshops or the use of our vehicles.
  • Scope 2: Indirect energy-related emissions
    Those resulting from our electricity consumption, necessary for the production of your made-to-measure costumes.
  • Scope 3: Other indirect emissions
    Those generated throughout the value chain, from the supply of raw materials to the delivery of our products.

Concrete actions for a real impact

More responsible raw materials

Did you know that the production of virgin wool in Australia generates around 24.4 kg of CO₂e per kilogram?

By favouring alternatives such as recycled wool, which has a carbon footprint of just 0.63 kg of CO₂e per kilogram, we are significantly reducing our environmental impact.

We are also highlighting even less polluting materials, such as linen and cotton, which have an even lower environmental impact, contributing to a more sustainable future.

Eco-designed accessories

  • Suit covers: We have opted for 100% recycled polyester covers, which are lighter, more durable and environmentally friendly.
  • Reusable covers: Some of our shops also offer reusable covers for our suits.
  • Bags: Our paper bags have been replaced by recycled cotton tote bags, which are reusable and ethically made.

Committed shops

Our sales areas adopt environmentally responsible practices, such as using sustainable materials, reducing energy consumption and promoting local suppliers.

Upcycling at the heart of our creation

In 2024, we recycled 300 metres of fabric, or around 110 kg of wool, which was originally destined for the scrap heap. Thanks to this process, we have created new, unique and eco-responsible pieces, reducing our environmental impact while making the most of existing resources.

We are also committed to combating clothing obsolescence by offering repair and alteration services. Whether you’ve put on weight or lost weight, we can adapt your clothes to suit your needs. This process of clothing upcycling and textile renobilisation not only extends the life of clothes, but also reduces waste and conserves resources.
