The art of women's tailoring

A story of difference between men and women

Women's sartorial style, much more than a simple inheritance from the men's wardrobe, is an expression of assertive, timeless elegance. At Blandin & Delloye, we are committed to celebrating this vision with a line of bespoke suits dedicated to women.

Between tradition and modernity, our approach reinvents women's tailoring, offering impeccable fit and infinite freedom of personalization.

A singular approach: the distinction between men and women

From our point of view, the term “sartorial” is understood differently for women. Far from wishing to denigrate it in comparison with men, we simply note that women have always cultivated a freer, more diversified approach to style.

If we go back in time, the 50s evoke a very feminine spirit: the suit was then often complemented by a full skirt marking the waist. It wasn’t until the 60s and 70s that women’s pants really came into their own. This was the period when women’s silhouettes became more relaxed, with a more assertive style and generous volumes for both jackets and pants. At that time, as for men, suits were primarily worn for business rather than pleasure.

Since the 2000s, we have witnessed a more casual wearing of suits. But unlike men, women have never needed a suit to emancipate themselves: they use it to sublimate their own identity.

An offer designed with women in mind

Our women’s line is part of a bold and refined vision of made-to-measure. We have over 700 items in stock and 7,000 fabrics available for cutting, sourced from the world’s leading drapers.

The choice of materials is essential to magnify silhouettes: subtle textures, flowing drapes or more structured fabrics, each fabric finds its place in a versatile, modern wardrobe. We explore a wide spectrum of colors and finishes to enable every woman to create a style that reflects her personality, between timelessness and audacity.

Whether you opt for a formal suit, a casual jacket, pants with tabs or a vest, our made-to-measure pieces will accompany you with distinction through every moment of your life. Playing on contrasts, combining materials, daring details: the world of women’s sartorial blossoms with us in total freedom of expression.

The sartorial feminine, an obvious choice.

Here again, the comparison with men is interesting. While men’s sartorial style is defined as a profound identity, for women it translates into a differentiating, singular image.

The strong influence of the fashion world and social networks on women has turned the page on a more traditional era. We are witnessing the emergence of a politically correct “m’as-tu-vu”, a stylistic audacity that we at Blandin & Delloye are particularly fond of, especially at major events such as Pitti Uomo.

Women’s sartorial is now being democratized, with a more cutting-edge half-measure offer capable of meeting this new demand. At the end of the 2010s, if a woman wanted to assert a real identity in costume, she had to approach a “Grande Mesure” tailor.

That era is now over… It’s a matter of course, but above all it’s a renaissance of elegance.
