First made-to-measure suit

Parisian Gentleman x Blandin & Delloye

The beginning of a sartorial journey often starts with the purchase of one's first made-to-measure suit. It’s a wonderful first step that we want to support alongside Hugo Jacomet. To make this suit accessible to as many people as possible, we decided to create the 'First Suit' initiative.

The house of Vitale Barberis Canonico also shares these values by making quality suits accessible to a wider audience. They have shown their support for this initiative by offering us the best price for the purchase of these fabrics.

Hugo Jacomet’s approach is to share his passion and knowledge of the sartorial world with as many people as possible. We hope that this initiative will help further support this effort.

A more detailed description of the famous draper Vitale Barberis Canonico, a partner in this initiative.

A message from Hugo Jacomet for all participants.

VITALE BARBERIS CANONICO

Of course, we would like to sincerely thank the house of Vitale Barberis Canonico, partner of the “First Suit” initiative, which supported its realization by offering a portion of the fabrics at cost price.

For those who are not yet familiar with the house, here is some information to enlighten you.

Vitale Barberis Canonico is probably one of the oldest textile manufacturers in the world, having started its operations in 1663. Located in the heart of the Biella region in Italy, it is a family-owned business whose craftsmanship has been passed down from generation to generation. Today, it is still the descendants of the founders who lead this house, whose passion for the craft commands respect.

Vitale Barberis Canonico is renowned for weaving exceptional fabrics for tailoring. The house has supplied the greatest tailors for several generations, with a primary focus on the quality of the fabrics it offers. It is also very committed to reducing its environmental impact and adheres to current ecological standards. Notably, it uses more environmentally friendly dyes and offers eco-responsible fabrics through its H.O.P.E. range, which perfectly reflects its commitment to corporate social responsibility (CSR).

The draper also stands out for its commitment to innovation, both in weaving methods and in the composition of technical fabrics.

Finally, and above all, Vitale Barberis Canonico has been dedicated for generations to supporting access to elegance through its fabrics. Its accessible pricing for luxury fabrics facilitates access for those wishing to explore the sartorial world. It is therefore only natural that the house chose to support the “First Suit” initiative with Hugo Jacomet and Blandin & Delloye.

A word from Hugo Jacomet

When I discovered the sartorial world in the mid-2000s, I was fascinated by this then little-known, nuanced, and largely underestimated realm, especially in France. After personally taking the leap into made-to-measure suits in 2007, I quickly wanted to share my experience by creating the blog Parisian Gentleman in January 2009. And when it took off in 2011, I already had in mind this somewhat crazy idea at a time when sportswear reigned supreme and the disappearance of sartorial style was predicted: to try to re-engage the younger generation with classic masculine elegance and, later, to make my modest contribution to its democratization.

This dream has now become a reality with this unprecedented initiative, which has been conceived and designed in collaboration with Blandin & Delloye and Vitale Barberis Canonico, our two partners whom I sincerely thank for believing in this disruptive and ambitious project in an increasingly standardized world, particularly in the clothing industry.

I chose Blandin & Delloye for this initiative to commend their remarkable reach across nearly all French regions (as well as in Canada).

I also chose Vitale Barberis Canonico for their unparalleled expertise in quality fabrics: a global reference.

Everything is now ready to help you experience made-to-measure suits in the best possible conditions!

“Savoir nouer sa cravate est le premier pas sérieux dans la vie,” said Oscar Wilde. Allow me to add today that a made-to-measure suit is the first step in an exciting journey: that of your personal elegance.

Warm regards,
Hugo Jacomet
